The owner of the store tried to sell me incompatible fish, luckily i did research on this fish and knew he was incompatible. I told him that i had a goldfish tank and asked him about a black ghost knife fish. I knew the two fish where incompatible, but just wanted to know what the store would say.The owner tried to take advantage of me and just get money, without caring about the fish. It was sad because if i wouldn't have known about the fish my aquarium would have been killed off and the fish would have died due to temperature reasons. A lot of information was off about the fish, the minimum recommended tank size for the fish is about 150 gallons, since it can grow to about 1' 6", but the owner of the store who claimed he was an expert said the fish only needed a five gallon aquarium and that it wouldn't grow unless i put it in a bigger tank. Also they are illegally selling baby turtles, but only to certain people. When i entered the store a man walked out with baby turtles, but when i asked if they where for sale the lady saw my appearance and said no because she knows its illegal. They also treat beta's very poor with multiple in one tank pretty much all of them had battle wounds somewhere on them.
Quality of fish were beyond expectations.. high quality. Color request made on my part and was clearly taken into consideration when fish were selected… even though this was not required. Showing that the customer service is good as is selection.
Love the selection and price! They simply can't be beat! Thank you to Matthew who was so very knowledgeable about bettas. He spent almost an hour just talking to me about making the best possible habitat for my betta.
Really cool place. I spent about 3 hours here and learned about a bunch of types of fish and how to care for them. I didn't purchase the first time but it didn't even matter. These guys are really into fish and you can tell! They did all they could to keep me informed and took real good care of me. Not pretentious at all ( like other fish stores I've been to) The best part is that the next time I came in the owner remembered me and asked about my fish that I already had! They are so thoughtful. Walked out with new little cichlids for my tank this time. Definitely will be back sooner than later!
Fish purchased using a 20% discount = good. Shipping box was standard=Good Fish arrived in excellent shape. Tested bag water and it was in healthy parameters.. see photo, Ph-7.5.
I feel comfortable recommending Coast Gem Aquatics as a online purchase went very well and stress on fish was low. I am an experienced goldfish keeper and have made multiple online orders… this was my first time ordering from Coast Gem USA.

The staff was nice , the owner was very nice and took time to give me information i need to know to take care of my goldfish.He was very knowledgeable.
