They have a wonderful variety of animals and the keepers are all informative and fun. Compared to Birch Aquarium, they have less sea animals but more lizards, snakes, birds, and other critters. Our favorites were the sea turtles, the eagles, and the mantis shrimp. We'll definitely be back!

What an awesome little gem here in San Diego. Maps won't give a route I think because it's on a private road, but the directions on the site got us there just fine. Basically just go to the end of E Street and you'll see the sign for the parking lot. Then the shuttle will grab you and take to the main building.

Haven't been here in 20 years, but this place was even batter than I remember! Brought my wife here for her first time and she was as happy as the groups of kids touring this place. There are a ton of wild birds of pray around in the trails to take pictured of if you're fast enough and the ride there and back in the shuttle couldn't have been more enjoyable. Our bus driver was incredible and would slow down to let people take pictures and let children gawk at the wildlife, we even got to see him feed one of the resident squirrels who hopped on the bus to say hi and hang out until the shuttle was full and had to go. We will definitely be coming back soon & hopefully catch those three blue herons !!

A small but nice nature center. Geared for children the center offer a few aquariums indoors and an outdoor shark and Ray exhibit. The bird section is quite nice with several birds of prey.

I really enjoyed my visit. There were a variety of animals at the centre, and we were able to see some of the animal feedings. Staff were very helpful and even gave a little in-depth information about animals they were feeding. There are also some panels where you could press a button to listen to the animal sounds. Great for kids! You need to take the shuttle which comes quite frequently in order to get from the parking lot to the centre.

Cute little center. Seemed a little pricey but we enjoyed our time there nonetheless. Sea turtles out front were the biggest hit!

Driving directions will not work but if you drop a pin on Gunpowder Road anywhere outside the wildlife refuge it will get you there. Actually, there is a parking lot with free shuttle on Gunpowder Road/ E Street at Bay Boulevard very close to the freeway - It's the only way ;)
