They have nee closing hours. They close at 6pm sharp!

no pice list, tell you one price when you drop off bike, chargr way more whe you go pick it up

They tell you one price but when you come in they tell you another much higher price. The prices are inconsistent too. I've bought the same thing there 3 times and the last time they were more expensive. They don't have spare basic bike parts. And if you change your mind about something because of the high price then they get short with you. Every time I've been there I've been dissatisfied.

Not the best customer service. The owner tried to charge me $80.00 for a USED break, break lever that DIDNT FIT and an additional 20 dollars for maintenance. I went to another bike shop and got it all done for less than 25 dollars. Many people in the cycling community do not appreciate this place. Anybody who doesnt know anything about bicycles and/or is new to the sport, avoid this place because you will be taken advantage of and talked into spending more money for used product.

Steve has been a friend of mine for about 7 years. I credit him for sparking my passion for BMX bikes again even at my age. People are saying that his stuff is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Do you want a $60.00 Walmart bike thats gonna go to crap after a week and maybe hurt your kid? Or do you want a good quality bike thats going to last? Every bike I've bought there is still in great shape and if I need something, Steve and his staff ALWAYS helped me out. Owning a local bike shop has everything to do with LOVING bikes. You're not going to get rich selling bikes in Chula Vista or have someone stand there and educate you on the history of bikes and which bike is most suited for you. Southbay is the only bike shop South County has, so support it.

Don't go here if you don't know everything about bikes because they will try to tack on more stuff you don't want and may not need. Never again. Try Chula Vista Bycicles, it's smaller but they're more helpful.
